Effective date: October 5, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Ataboard collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Ataboard is operated by Merchard, LLC, doing business as Ataboard ("Ataboard," "we," "us," or "our").
It applies to everyone who uses our website and services (the "Service"): Sellers who list ad slots, Buyers who purchase them, and visitors to public pages. It is part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service. We do not sell personal information, and we collect only what we need to run the marketplace.
We collect the information you give us, plus a small amount of technical data.
Sellers. When you sign in and set up your page, we collect your email address, display name, handle, platform label, profile URL, and the slots you create (name, description, price, duration, and optional example link). When you connect Stripe, we receive your Stripe account ID. Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly, and we do not receive them.
Buyers. At checkout, we collect your public display name, real name, email address, and the private details you write for the Seller. We also record the slot, the amount, and a Stripe payment reference. Your card details are collected by Stripe, and we do not receive or store full card numbers.
Purchase and report records. We keep a record of each purchase and its status, along with any problem reports you send us through the "Report a problem" form.
Technical data. Our servers and providers log technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages and actions requested. We use it to keep the Service secure and working, including limiting repeated sign-in or form requests.
Messages to us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as government ID numbers or health information.
We use personal information only to run the Service and keep it safe. Specifically, we use it to:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing emails.
Some information is public, some is shared only between the two parties to a sale, and some is never shared.
Public. A Seller's page shows the Seller's display name, platform label, profile URL, and slots (name, description, price, duration, and example link). Once a Seller accepts a purchase, the page also shows the Buyer's display name and the slot name in the sponsor carousel and on the slot, while the slot is sold or live. If a display name is hidden, it shows as "Anonymous buyer." Public pages never show email addresses, amounts paid, or a Buyer's details for the Seller.
Between Buyer and Seller. A Seller receives a Buyer's display name and private details when a purchase is requested. If the Seller accepts and the payment is captured, we send one email to both of you with both email addresses visible, along with the slot name and description, the amount, and the Buyer's details, so you can coordinate. By buying or accepting, you agree to this sharing. Please use the other person's email only to carry out the deal.
Never shared. We do not share a Buyer's real name or email with a Seller before acceptance, and we do not give either party's information to other users, advertisers, or data brokers.
We share information with three service providers so they can perform services for us, and with others only in the limited cases below.
| Provider | What it does for us | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Processes payments, pays out Sellers, and verifies Seller identity | Card and payment details, Seller identity and bank details, purchase amounts, buyer name and email tied to a payment |
| Resend | Delivers our emails | Email addresses and the content of the emails we send |
| Render | Hosts the Service and its database | All information stored in the Service, plus server logs |
Stripe and each provider handle information under their own privacy policies and terms. Stripe acts as an independent controller for the identity and payment information it collects directly from you.
Other disclosures. We may disclose information when we believe it is needed to follow the law or respond to a valid legal request, to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security problems, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ataboard, our users, or others. If Merchard, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal, and we will tell you if it affects how your information is handled.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use only the cookies and similar technologies the Service needs to work and stay secure. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Because we do not track you across sites, we do not respond differently to "Do Not Track" signals.
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, and then delete or de-identify it.
We may keep information longer when the law requires it or when needed to protect legal rights. Other parties may keep what they already received, such as a Seller who has your email from the introduction message.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.
Card payments are handled by Stripe, so full card numbers never pass through or sit in our database. Sellers sign in with emailed links rather than passwords, so keep your email account secure, since anyone who can open the link can sign in as you. If you think your account has been accessed without permission, or you find a security problem, email hello@merchard.com right away.
If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
You can ask us what we hold about you, and to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, such as Texas or California, you may have legal rights to:
How to ask. Email hello@merchard.com from the address linked to your account or purchase, say what you want, and include your name and, for Buyers, the slot or purchase involved so we can find your records. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 45 days, and we may extend that once as the law allows.
Limits. We may not be able to delete information we must keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute reasons, and we cannot change what another person already received, such as a copy of the introduction email. Deleting a Seller's information may end that Seller's account. We may also decline a request as the law allows, and we will tell you why.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal." We will answer within 60 days. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
Emails. We send only service emails, such as sign-in links and purchase updates, so there is no marketing list to unsubscribe from.
Ataboard is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@merchard.com and we will delete it.
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored here by us and our service providers. If you use the Service from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will post the updated policy with a new effective date and, for Sellers, email a notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the update.
